For those of us who don't partake of the city recycling truck (someone keeps stealing my freaking blue box), don't have woodstoves or furnaces (electric heat), or are just lazy when it comes to throwing things away... I found a use for old newspapers and those idiotic bags of flyers that keep getting dumped on my doorstep.
Draining deep fried treats.
Go to England and get some fish and chips on the corner and they'll come to you wrapped in paper. So why not do one of two things with your own newspapers: feed your family a traditional fish and chips meal English style (complete with malt vinegar, yum!) or simply save the paper towel and drain those deep fried tasties on a pile of newspapers.
Dylan loves English fish and chips night because while we eat we all chat about our day in terrible British accents, and I think he has a thing for malt vinegar (weird child). |

That would be a good idea and I remember getting fish and chips in News paper as a child. However I have now heard that the Ink is not good for us and that is why they stopped using Newspaper. But could be good for clean ups while drainning and cleaning the deep fryer.
Also not to be oppositional but my daughter and I LOVE MALT VINEGAR! We asked for it in Unison the other day at a restaraunt! LOL!
The first time I ever had Malt vinegar was in the States as a child, it is their "Standard" vinegar, or was at the time at least in Bellingham WA.
News paper can be used for spills, or while painting for absorbtion, making those funny paper hats, paper mache, and if you can get colored "funnies" it makes excellent kids gift wrapping and they LOVE IT!
