Hi e1, Kiana is off to Canada's Wonderland tomorrow, she's excited but scared. All her friends want her to ride the giant roller coaster and she hates them. They will leave town around 9:30am and be back by 9 pm. Going to be a long day. I'm glad she got in a group with a girl she normally hangs out with. Mark hurt his foot playing ball. His other foot that is. We're having shake n bake chicken tonight~yummm. Tomorrow is Kiana's last day of grounding i'm sure she is excited about that too!!
Have a super tuesday e1!!

Good evening everyone. Cloudy and raining this afternoon. Not doing to much today. Well, well our daughter has outdone herself first the birthday party for her Dad. Today the delivery she told us to expect came at lunch time. To our surprise it was a new box spring, mattress and frame. She ordered it from Leons, NS and had it delivered through Moncton. The truck jus backed in and the guy said he had a deliver. Then Sharman called at the same time and said surprise. What a daughter
Have a good evening

I dressed for work today as if it was winter! Minus the gloves, hat and coat of course, ok well Fall time it felt like (at least!)
I hear it's suppose to stay cool (but not THIS cool for the remainder of the week, with showers off and on.
Great for my gardens however! Not needing to water!
I am now able to pick fresh lettuce's, and the garlic chives of course are ready for dinner!
We shall have pumpkins for Halloween and TONS of tomatoes including cherry ones, we Will have to be sharing!
I have been hearing how much sodium is in canned tomatoes, however they are a lot of work to can getting the skins off etc.
We have leaks, cucumbers, different colors of sweet peppers, and herbs.
Oh and Rhubarb, need some recipies, must check if we have a recipe section!
Tonight I made rice krispie squares "supreme" with coconut and butterscotch chips! YUM!
I am taking a Pharmacology course through work, and working full time, no rest !
Found out that I need to go for a hysterectomy, not happy bout that. DOES anyone have NON horror stories to share about it? I've already been privy to some but even if they are I need to be aware.
I have to get shots for three monthes prior that will throw me into temporary menopause first. Doesn't that sound fun! :(
So perhaps I would be happy with cooler weather, LOL!
Hope everyone is doing well.

Hi Everyone!

MrsMuffin, I hope that Kiana has a great time at Wonderland. She will love it there. I bet she will happy to be have her grounding finished.

Joyce, Sharman is a wonderful daughter! How special and thoughtful she is. Did Clarence enjoy his birthday?

Georgiagirl, glad that you are settled in now. Do you like the Alabama weather? Is it better on your fibromyalgia? I certainly hope so. Just don't go over doing things. You are as bad as what I am. rolmao

Char, I hope that you aren't too hard hit with the flooding. Michael and I are watching the news three times a day to keep up on the news down there.

Nippercat, please stay strong. You are always in my thoughts and prayers. I was going to call you earlier tonight and then I found myself passing in and out of sleep. Maybe we can talk tomorrow evening. That would nice.

Shirley, thank you so much for the tags that you have posted. They are great. You are such a blessing to this Group.

Ccrew, my goodness what a garden you have there! I am so impressed! We do have a recipe section. I will look around for some recipes for you. I am also sure that if any of the Ladies have recipes they will gladly share them with you.

Now, as for your hysterectomy. I had one years ago. It was the best thing that ever happened to me. I didn't have to take any shots before going in. As a matter of fact, the surgeon left my ovaries in to prevent me from going into early menopause. I had the lateral incision which in my opinion is the best because it does not cut against the grain of the muscles.

Tip for your hospital stay, after your surgery, get up and walk as soon as you are able to. You are going to have to pass gas and have a B.M. to relieve some of the pressure and to make sure that everything is working right. Ask the nurses to bring you what was affectionately called when I had mine done, a Prune Cocktail. They heat the prune juice up in the microwave. After the second one, they actually start tasting good. Definitely that will get you going to the bathroom. Just don't overdo it like I did. We had to go out and get me some chewable Kaopectate. rolmao

After my hysterectomy, life was great. Some of my back pains actually went away. Also, I did find a marked improvement on the number of migraines that I had. Naturally, the best parts of having a hysterectomy was no longer having my "monthly," getting pregnant and no longer having the fear of getting cervical or uterine cancer.

There is life after a hysterectomy. To be honest with you, I wish that I had it done years prior, but I was too young. I never felt that I was less of a woman because I no longer had my uterus. If anything, I discovered a new me - a new woman that had been waiting to come out and play and have fun. If you want to talk about this, you can email me. I am always here for you and all of our members if you need to talk about something that is weighing heavy on your mind.

Hope everyone has a wonderful night. Believe it or not my dear Friends, I just came on for a second and then I saw Ccrew's message and felt compelled to respond to it. I had to go to the clinic today and they turned me into a pin cushion. rolmao

georgiagirl1947-- sounds like you like camping. I'm not sure I could for any length of time. Hope you have a good move.

mrsmuffin-- Wonderland sounds fun. Kiana should be excited. Just let her now its okay to say no to the roller coasters. I don't blame her. I don't like them.

Joyce-- Sharman sounds like a very good daughter. Enjoy your new bed.

ccrew-- Can I come and raid your garden? rolmao I will look around for rhubarb recipes.
I know I had some. You need to send some rice krispie squares "supreme" to everyone. You need to share! I don't have a hysterectomy stories. I had the lining of my uterus frozen to stop my bleeding. Thats one of the best things I have done. Hope all goes well for you

Lynne-- i wasn't bothered by the flood. I live way up the hill. We have many downtown streets closed. We don't have a flood wall. The city felt it wasn't needed. so they build a very long and tall sandbag type of thing to keep the water back every time it floods. Now the city has to pay a huge amounts in city workers overtime, clean up etc. So that's cheaper? Now the flooding is down river from us.
We did have some water in our basement from the rain. Most of that is gone now. We are not suppose to get rain now until Friday.

Lynne- sure hope you are feeling better.

Nippercat--stay strong.

Shirley--Those were some great tags LOL

Hope everyone has a good Wednesday.

ccrew-- I found a couple of rhubarb recepies. I put then under kitchen talk. I probably put them in the wrong place, but I'm sure you can find them. I use Splenda instead of sugar. tastes the same only less calories. hope you find this helpful.

The less i move the better my stomache feels. Made boxed scalloped potatoes and ham steaks for supper. Mark is having a snooze on the couch he's picked up a cold. take care all

Thanks everyone!
I think a rhubarb crisp or cobbler sounds good, crisp in particular
I can't take the taste of artificial sweetener, and don't like the thought that it's chemicals, I feel that at least with sugar we know what's in it and what it does to us, LOL!
Salt however for me IT'S TIME TO SMARTEN UP! I LOVE salt and I know that it's rediculous how much I use and how bad it is for me.
Does anyone know of something less harmful that still tastes like salt?
I have tried a salt substitute and it was AWFUL!
I know that lemon is a good one any other suggestions?
I want to check out the rhubarb recipe's but it's bed time, busy day tomorrow then working nights and Pharmacology right after Friday's night shift!
SO BED TIME, I Promise I will check out the recipe's Thanks again!

ccrew-- aw another nightshifter. I sleep most of the day, and work 6 nights a week.

I use Mrs Dash for the salt. Tastes just like salt, very low sodium. As for the splenda, I don't notice an aftertaste at all. It is made from sugar. I don't like the other subs.

Mrsmuffin- hope you IBS is not acting up anymore, and that you are feeling better. Hope Marks cold is better

Everyone have a great day today.

Hi Everyone!

Nice and cool today in Oshawa. Hopefully I will get some good sleep today. I went to bed about three hours ago and woke up without the alarm to take my meds and have some breakfast.

They have been doing construction outside of our Apartment building. They woke me up yesterday and I hope that today that I will be able to go back to bed and get some sleep. Even with the window fan and the television on in the bedroom, the noise still woke me up.

I am still kind of sore today. I did get a big walk in on Tuesday. As a matter of fact, I was out first thing in the morning to go to the Lab for work and then in the early evening, Michael and I walked down to the Church which is about a half mile walk. I need to keep reminding myself to go at things slowly and I just keep forgetting that I am not as young as what I use to be.

I have posted a couple pictures in my album of Baby. Daddy and Mummy were "bad" with one of the pix.

Speaking of pix, here is what my arm looked like the day after my lab work. I have terrible veins and the poor tech was so upset. My vein kept rolling on him. The tech did manage to succeed with my right wrist. Michael insisted upon taking the pix.

As you can tell, I don't give blood. I have tried for years to give it and they always turn me away. crying

Well, I hope that everyone has a wonderful day! I am off to bed again.

Big Hugs, Love and Prayers to All!

Hi CCrew...I had a hysterectomy about 11 years ago..wow where has time gone. they took out everything.."Took away the cradle and left the playpen" rolmao Anyway, it was great, I had one shot after the surgery, but have not had any estrogen since. And I feel great...Best thing that could have happened. Menopause wasn't too bad, hot flashes of course, but not as bad as some have it. It's like Lynne said, "a new you" if you go in with a positive attitude, then you'll come out with one too. Hope this helps. take care..Mary

Hi all, i feel a bit better today went from diahrea to constipation. No happy medium for me. rolmao Mark's cold has turned into a full blown cold. He seems to get alot of colds, me i'm usually lucky and don't get them. I'm touching wood. :) Kiana had a blast at Wonderland. They took away her gatorade which ticked me off. We weren't told they couldn't take outside drinks in only that they couldn't be cans. Good thing i sent her money. And as usual she remembered Mark and i. Mark got a silver necklace with an eagle on it. I got a heart necklace and earrings. It's cool and rainy here. hugs to e1

Good morning all.
Hard to sleep during the day this weekend-- We have an airshow here, so the big planes a practicing and fly very low.

Lynne-- Your arm looks horrible. Next time you give blood, try putting moist heat to your arm. Sometimes that helps. I hope all your labs come back good.

Mrsmuffin-- I think they should have told you about the drinks before K went to Wonderland. I can see not taking glass bottles, but any other should have been okay. I hope you are feeling better. As far as Mark is concerned-- my grandmother used to say " tie a dirty sock around your neck" rolmao I'm not sure what is was suppose to do, but I don't think I ever tried it.

Mary-- I hope everything turns out okay with you. Keep your spirits up.

Joyce-- sounds like you had a busy week with Hope getting ready to eat, and Austin's son graduating. Congrats to all of you.

Weather here is to be nice this weekend, with a small chance of rain. We don't need a lot more, with the flooding we have. The water is starting to go down here. South of us is getting hit hard as all the water moves down.

Everyone have a good day.
Sending prayers and (((HUGS))) to all.

Icon_sun Whoo Hoo Friday and the first weekend of summer.
Did not do to much today. The lawn needed mowed
and did a tub of laundry. Hope had her appointment yesterday afternoon to start eating, she did everything they wanted. Austin was given the go ahead to try ice cream at home and dilute some apple juice to swab out her mouth. Now I am on the look out
for Lactose Free ice cream. I am like Austin Chapmans can not be
the only company that makes it. Oh well I requested a coupon
from Chapmans today. Austins son Arthur graduated last night that was a tear jerker, he is just like my son. Arthur lived with us for quite a bit off a on growing up.

Lynne- Clarence enjoyed his party very much. The fidlder let him do a few notes on the fiddle. The DJ played one special song for Sharman and her Dad. Plese do not squeeze the Sharman. That is where her name comes from. That is the way Clarence spells her name, it is not spelled that way in the song.

Char-- Hope and I will be able to eat ice cream together this summer for the first time. crying

Have a great weekend
