Well, I went to see my Shrink on Friday. What I heard just about blew both Michael and I away. I haven't been able to write about it; because every time that I think about what my Doctor told me just makes my blood boil hotter than an frying on the sidewalk in the Dog Days of Summer.

Apparently, I have been black listed at the local walk in clinic! Why you ask? Well, brace yourself for this one because my head is still spinning. According my Doctor, who had a heads up on the situation, I have been black listed because I have insisted upon being a part of my health care. Apparently, I was not suppose to have been as knowledgeable about my health issues. I was not suppose to be going into the clinic requesting tests to be done on a regular basis - which of course proved that there were some serious health issues that needed to be addressed.

I had thought that when I went to the clinic last week that what the Doctor there had said to me was just a blow off. My Doctor on Friday confirmed to me what I had heard was fact. The Doctor at the clinic had told me that nobody at the Clinic wanted to tell me that I was going to die. That's right! You read it right.

Now, don't get upset by that. I am not dying any time soon, but, hey, it is on the horizon. It is a part of the big picture since the day that I was conceived. Some day, I will kick the proverbial bucket.

I looked at my Doctor on Friday and laughed. I asked him, isn't that a part of Medical School? My Doctor agreed with me. He said that they are giving me the run around.

So, where does this leave me? My Doctor gave me some names of tests that I am to ask for when I go back to the clinic and also the name of a Diabetic Specialist that will help me and who my Doctor has a very good relationship with.

My Doctor is going to work with me to fight the system. Amazing, I am too smart for my own good and yet it has been my intelligence that has kept me alive this long.

wow Lynne that is incredible. If you can go back to the clinic what exactly does it mean that you are black listed?? Way to go for being on top of your health, we should all be that knowledgeable!!!!

Okay, this is what has been happening. I have gone for interview after interview for a family doctor. Nobody will take me on. When I go to the Walk In Clinic, I have to fight for requisitions for tests. They won't even take my blood pressure without an argument!

Here is a prime example. I went down to the X-ray lab a month ago for a Cardiograph. The receptionist looked at the requisition form and told me that I would have to come back another time because the lady who does the cardiographs only does two or three a day! My Shrink broke up laughing the idiocy of that one. He couldn't believe it - like he did believe it but the lack of medical care is what is so unbelievable.

Basically, what they are doing is giving me the most basic health care possible.

My Shrink has given me the name of a clinic in the next town over for me to request a referral too. He said that the specialist over there will take care of all of my health issues - which is what I need and want.

Just goes to prove that someone can be too smart for their own good - but, at the same time, if it weren't for my knowledge, I would probably be dead by now. Go figure.

At least I have a Shrink that is also a Surgeon and knows what he is talking about and I trust him.
