Greetings Everyone,
My name is Lynne a.k.a. Resident Insomniac. I am your fearless leader here at Friends R Family. Here is a brief synopsis of my life. I hope that it will help you to get to know and understand what makes me, Me.
I have been around the Net now since 2000.
Being retired and somewhat of a shut-in, I do spend a fair amount of time on the Net. Prior to being forced into retirement due to failing health, I was extremely active in my Community as a Volunteer, Activist, Advocate and Business Woman.
Presently, I live in Oshawa, Ontario, Canada - home of General Motors and the Oshawa Generals Hockey team which boasts of having one of its players the winning scorer at the Jr. Games in Europe which brought the Gold Medal home to Canada for 2008.
My life is filled with the joy of our two precious kiddies, Baby and Bear. You can see pix of them in my Photo Album here on the Site. I admit that I share the kiddies with my DH, Michael, who is a brilliant artist and the love of my life. He is our Artistic Consultant here at Friends R Family. As a child and as an adult, I have suffered from all forms of abuse. I admit that I still seek counseling for past issues; however, the experiences have made me a stronger individual and the Woman that I am today. There is life after abuse.
Educational background: I attended the University of Toronto, Majoring in Psychology, Sociology and English as a Minor. In 1989, I studied at the Emmaus Bible College in Colorado Springs, Colorado. In 2003, I attended the George Brown College in Toronto and later went on to graduate Valedictorian of my class in Computer Studies.
Throughout my life, I have worked in numerous capacities from cleaning Motel Rooms, Taxi Dispatcher, Head of Security for a major Music Event, Head Hunter, Waiting Tables, Short Order Cook, Assistant Librarian with Revenue Canada, Teacher of E.S.L., Newspaper Editor/Publisher, to name a few and not in any particular order. I have always believed in giving an honest day's work for an honest day's dollar, no matter what the task is/was.
So, I hope that with my background in life, I will be able to bring forth to all members, a new home on the Net that will be filled with positive, fun, informative and encouraging content. |

Hi there!
Got to say I am so pleased with this new site, you have done a fantastic job. As I stated in my intro I did belong to some of your other forums on proboards. As proboards did not offer the feature of seeing the new posts since your last visit, I found it very difficult to find and see all the wonderful posts that were there. So, this new forum change is excellent...I won't miss any new posts.
