Choose these types less often
- instant rice
- soda crackers
- white bread
- one minute oatmeal
- potatoes
- corn
- pasta
- peas
- turnips
- squash
- parsnips

What to eat
eat foods from at least 3 of the 4 food groups from Canada's food guide
1- grains
2- Veggies & fruit
3- Milk products
4- Meat & alternatives

When to eat
When you eat also effects your blood glucose.
- eat at the same times each day
- eat 3 meals a day no more then 6 hrs apart
- eat snacks at the same time too
- Do not skip meals or snacks
1/2 your plate should be veggies
1/4 should contain meat or alternatives
1/4 contains grains

Choose grains that are high in fiber like brown rice, whole grain breads and cereals
Remember portions sizes .. we all eat way to much!
